How You Can Support Our Chosen Charities for November

Posted on 03 Nov 2016 by Anna Scott
Each month here at Discount Promo Codes we select three different charities to feature in our poll, and the results of this poll go on to determine who will receive our monthly charitable donation. ‘What monthly charitable donation?’ you might be wondering. Well, one of the reasons Discount Promo Codes is so very different from other savings sites is that we donate 20% of our profits to a different charity each month, hence the poll. And the poll? Because it wouldn’t be fair if we didn’t let you, our lovely site users, choose who gets to benefit.

So, as you’ve probably already worked out, each time you use one of our promo codes (including all current Marks and Spencer discount codes, Boden promotional codes and Joules discount vouchers) to save on your online shopping, a small amount of that sale gets added to our monthly total. You can vote for your favourite charity in our November poll right here, but if you want a bit more info before you make your decision, read on to find out about the great work they do…

Bliss – World Prematurity Day

Bliss LogoBliss is a charity you might already have head of because of their tireless work helping premature babies and their families, but one of the reasons they’ve been selected for November is because of World Prematurity Day. On November 17th, Bliss is celebrating this global event that aims to highlight premature birth on an international scale, and the affect it can have on families and support networks.  Along with partner organisations in other countries, this year Bliss is using the opportunity to promote the need for family-centred care which has been proven to improve the chances of a healthier life for premature babies. Unfortunately, this type of care is not supported in UK neonatal units, showing the necessity for more funding in this area. For more information on not just World Prematurity Day but also the other work Bliss carries, out, please visit their site right here.

Bullying UK – Anti Bullying Week

Bullying UK LogoBullying UK is part of the Family Lives charity and strives to raise awareness about many different types of bullying that takes place (including cyber bullying and workplace bullying) as well as its harmful effects. In addition to providing support and advice for young people and their families, Bullying UK also supports Anti Bullying Week which is taking place between 14th-18th November this year. The 2016 theme for this campaign is ‘power for good’ and individuals and schools can take part by requesting a fundraising pack via the information page on their site.

Diabetes UK – World Diabetes Day

Diabetes UK LogoDiabetes UK is the country’s largest organisation devoted to raising awareness about diabetes and raising money for diabetes research, with over £60 million going towards this cause in the last ten years alone. Diabetes UK also runs the Diabetes UK Support which provides invaluable advice and support for those who have been diagnosed. As well as their year-round work, Diabetes UK also participates in World Diabetes Day that takes place on 14th November and is a global campaign organised by the International Diabetes Federation. For more info on not just this event but also the work carried out by Diabetes UK, please visit their site.
