How to Make the Best Homemade Fudge

With the help of our recipe and tips as well as Ocado promo codes, Asda promo codes and Tesco promo codes, it’s possible to create the perfect homemade fudge right in your own, er, home. And who doesn’t love homemade fudge? No one, that’s who! Especially when you manage to nail that fudge-making technique. The trick is to get yourself the best quality ingredients and make sure you bring it up to the right temperature. Easy right? We’ll let you decide…

You will need…

100g unsalted butter

550g caster sugar

350ml double cream

200g golden syrup

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon sea salt flakes

23cm x 23cm baking tray, lined

Temperature gauge

A lot of recipes contain milk, but if you want that dairy hit, we highly recommend you use double cream instead – search for current dairy savings using our current Asda discount code that gets you access to offers of up to 55% off selected items, as well as our Tesco discount voucher with up to 50% off selected groceries. In fact, you could even go the whole hog and opt for clotted cream for that extra West Country flavour. You can also use that Asda promotional code to save on your Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup (the best sort, of course), as they’ve currently got the Tate and Lyle Golden Syrup Baking Squeezy Bottle 600g for just £1.

To prepare the fudge, put the butter, cream, sugar and syrup in a large saucepan and heat until the sugar has dissolved, stirring constantly. Simmer for a further 15-20 minutes (whilst still stirring) until the temperature reaches 116 degrees centigrade. Remove from the heat then stir in the salt and vanilla extract, and continue to stir vigorously until the mixture thickens and loses its sheen. Pour into the baking tray when ready and leave to set at room temperature. Once ready and cut into squares, it can be stored in the fridge.

To save even more money on your groceries, have you considered using one of our Ocado coupon codes before? If you’re a first time customer, you’ve got a choice of two savings – either use Ocado discount codes to claim £20 off when you spend £80 or more, or 25% off when you spend £60 or more. Even if you’ve shopped there before, worry not, because you can still save money on individual items with those Asda discount vouchers and Tesco promotional offers.

Even if you’re planning on scoffing all that fudge yourself, or giving to a loved one as a Valentine’s gift (in a suitably romantic box, of course), our Ocado discount codes, Asda discount codes and Tesco discount codes can help you save on all the best quality fudge essentials.
